About project Patronage
From the beginning of russiaĀ“s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, there was an acute social problem. Many old people were left without proper support and treatment. Our volunteer team took on that challenge, and we started taking care of people who were unable to take care of their own.
600 beneficiaries are currently under our care.
About person
Oleksandr Yakovych worked as a researcher at the Physico-Technical Institute in Sukhum, then at the Karazin Kharkiv National University. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia on the territory of Ukraine, the work stopped, although the man is in fact still an employee of the university. "Iād be happy to work now as well. It's money after all, and you know, never enough of it, the same is with conversations with people. It's hard without it," he sighs.
Oleksandr Yakovych usually spent his weekends at the country house in Stary Saltov, which is close to the border with russia. Although the village was de-occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it is impossible to be there, because the frontline is very close and something is constantly flying in.
The man has 4 grandchildren. "They all left in March 2022, only one granddaughter came back, she takes care of me a lot. I want us all to win as soon as possible and all my family could return home to Kharkiv," dreams Oleksandr Yakovych.
